Cheers to the World – Or: Sunny Bastards Are Going International!

As our Facebook page statistic shows us that there are a lot of supporters of our page around the world, we are now trying to give you our recent news in English! So these are the first news for the 2^nd part of year 2012:

OXO 86 – Welcome to the Sunny Bastards Family

Oxo 86 is an Oi/Punk/2-Tone mixture that had its first release in the year 2000 on Scumfuck Records. 12 years and 5 albums later they will release their 6^th album as part of the Sunny Bastards Family (CD on Sunny Bastards / LP on Crazy United Records). Named “Auf die Liebe und die Sehnsucht” the album will be released at the beginning of 2013. Our sublabel Crazy United Records will also add a 7inch to the LP version.

GIMP FIST with Two Releases in 2012

Gimp Fist has been in studio since weeks to come back with 2 releases this year.

First strike will be a split album together with Last Rough Cause named “Last Orders”! 5 songs of both bands each, LP limited on 500 pieces on transparent red vinyl and with limited poster, CD as “digipack” with a nice cover layout which you can see below.

The second strike will be the next great step in the short but amazing history of Britain’s North/East Oi! Division! Listening to the first song “First in line” we got a few weeks ago, we know: this album will be a blast again. For us Gimp Fist is and will be the best current English band and we think that with this new album a lot of other people will think the same way! The release of the album will be on time for the Son of a Bastard Tour in autumn!

“Hard Lines & Sweet Sounds” – New Album of the Lazy Bastards

The next release in August 2012 will be the new album “Hard Lines & Sweet Sounds” of the Lazy Bastards. The title of the album is also the motto of the sound: you will get melodic and catchy sing-along songs as well as powerful riffs. All packed in a digipack designed by Sucker (Oxymoron / Bad Co. Project).

Re-Release of Stomper 98’s Album “Für die Ewigkeit”

It has been the first album of Stomper 98 with Sebi as singer and was the start-up of a great development of the band. Now they are the most important German Skinhead band with great shows throughout Europe and also the States. We think that this album was the milestone in this development and therefore we have re-released this great album again as digipack and with a poster-inlay! Furthermore there will be a new album of Stomper 98, which will be released also in autumn 2012.

Toxpack’s lost Album “Aggressive Kunst”

No, we haven’t become treasure hunters. It’s a simple story why we can now offer 110 pieces of one of the most important releases of Toxpack. There have been some dissonances between Toxpack and their old label. Now they get the lost copies and they will sell them in our online shop exclusively. Songs like “Suff & wilde Spiele” or “Bang Bang” as well as “Aggressive Kunst” (supported by Roger Miret) are still part of every Toxpack show. So hurry up, if you want to own one of these albums!

El Bosso meets the Skadiolas with their 2^nd Album

Their first album “Helden der Nacht” has been a surprise not only to us (CD and LP are sold out). Now the joint venture of El Bosso and the band the Skadiolas comes back with their second album “Nie wieder Kirmesmusik – Für immer Kirmesmusik”. The music of the band is a Ska and Punk mixture and for this album they were supported by Schulle (Toxpack) for a new hymn for our scene, by Bosky (Hotknives) and his keyboard and by the singer of Dritte Wahl. A perfect connection of Ska and Punk for dancing and with some parts for pogo!

“Thank you Skinhead Girl”-DVD

The great documentary by Sharon Woodward is going to be sold out in the next weeks. So hurry up, if you want an example of this honest and silent story of a Skinhead Girl. The DVD comes with a 20-pages-inlay as well as with great features like a very funny interview with Roddy Moreno.

Son of a Bastard Autumn Tour 2012 and Son of a Bastard Festival 2013

For the ones of you who are planning a trip to Germany, we have some dates for you:

In September we will go on a 6 days tour throughout Germany and Austria with the Gumbles, Gimp Fist, Eastside Boys and Emscherkurve 77. The tour starts at Hamburg on 27 September will go on to Bischofswerda, Munich, Vienna and will end in Dortmund. This will be 6 days of Chaos and Punkrock!

Furthermore we can confirm the date for our next label-festival! The Son of a Bastard – The Ride Festival 2012 will take place on 08 and 09 February 2012 at Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen. The first band that is confirmed is Bad Co. Project! Watch out for more news….

Some other Upcoming Releases

-         OHL will go to the record studio in winter 2012 to record their new album. So the next strike of OHL will be released in 2013.

-         The release of the new album of the Eastside Boys will have to wait until the first months of 2013.

-         The Hotknives are also working on their next album but it will take time until the release date. We think that it will be released somewhere between 2013 and 2015 but we think that it is a pleasure to wait as long as it is needed to.

And Now - The Highlight: We Welcome Pro Pain to the Sunny Bastard Familiy!

We are happy and proud and don’t want to say too much as Gary Meskil from Pro Pain has already found the right words:

"We are proud to announce that a brand new Pro-Pain album will be released later this year via Sunny Bastards Records in Europe. Pro-Pain frontman Gary Meskil states: "The new album will be recorded in June at Little Creek Studio in Gelterkinden Switzerland with Producer V.O. Pulver. It will feature 11 new brutal tracks which are quite reminiscent of the traditional NYHC / Thrash sound which helped put the band on the map. We are very much looking forward to working with Sunny Bastards Records on this new endeavour". In support of the new album, a full scale European Tour will commence on August 31st with guests Undivided (NYHC) and Hemlock (Las Vegas USA) plus special guests (to be announced) in select markets. Label partners outside of Europe to be named shortly."
